ABOUT

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Ms. Billah, a self-taught artist was born in Bangladesh, and spent her childhood in multiple places, going to five different elementary schools. Her adventurous family mostly lived in California, and Massachusetts, with a short period also spent in Bangladesh before she turned 10. She has been living in the Philadelphia suburbs since she went there for her undergraduate studies at Villanova University over 20 years ago, and fell in love with the gentle rolling hill scenery of southeastern Pennsylvania. She started  painting at the age of 41 as a means to de-stress from her professional civil engineering career, and has been taking classes at the Anvil Studio in Pottstown with Mary Ellen Christ.  She primarily works with oil on panels, gouache, and alcohol inks on yupo paper, and is inspired by nature to paint flora, andscapes, seascapes, along with architectural elements from her walks, and travels around the world.
